I’ve been around long enough to remember when these little sign-up freebies were actually a decent way to test a site. These days half of them look alright until you read the fine print and it turns into 60x wagering, tiny max cashout, half the pokies excluded, then KYC the second you finally hit something. Bit rough.
Not having a whinge for the sake of it, just genuinely curious what other Aussie punters are seeing now. Are there any places still doing a proper no-cash-first offer where you can have a few spins, maybe try the lobby out, and not feel like you’ve been stitched up by the terms? I’m not expecting miracles, just something fair.
For me the main red flags are when they bury the max withdrawal in the promo page, or when only a weird handful of low-volatility games count. Also if a site is happy to let you play the bonus but drags its feet once docs get asked for... yeah nah. If you’ve actually managed to turn one of these into a real cashout lately, keen to hear which one and how painful the process was.
Chuck in the good, the dodgy, whatever. Even if it was only useful for testing support speed or pokies selection before depositing, that still helps. Reckon a proper current thread on this would save people a lot of stuffing around.
