question Freebie sign-up offers on Aus-facing sites - any actually worth a look?

Been having a stickybeak at the free sign-up promos lately, the ones where you can have a crack without loading your account first. Thought I’d chuck up a quick take because a lot of them look better in the banner than they do once you open the terms.

From what I’ve seen, most of these offers fall into a few buckets: a handful of free spins, a small bonus balance, or some combo of both. The bit that catches people out is usually the fine print — wagering can be pretty high, max cashout is often capped pretty low, and sometimes only certain pokies count. A few also want full ID checks before you can pull anything out, even if the amount is tiny, which is fair enough I guess, but worth knowing before you get too keen.

I’m not saying they’re useless or anything, just that the decent ones seem pretty rare. If the spins are on a low-volatility game and the cashout cap isn’t rubbish, then sweet, at least you’ve got a chance of turning it into something. If it’s 60x wagering and a $20 cap... yeah nah. Curious what others are seeing at the moment — any Aussie-friendly sites doing these in a way that’s actually reasonable, or is it mostly the same old story?

I pretty much bin any of them if they won't show the game list before sign-up. If the spins are locked to some dud pokie no one plays, what's the point. Curious though, do people here ever keep playing on a site after the freebie, or is it usually just grab it and bail?
