question Serious question: are Megaways mostly just noisy rubbish?

I know heaps of players love them, but I honestly reckon a lot of Megaways slots are all chaos and no payoff. Every spin looks busy as hell, numbers flying everywhere, reels changing size, big music build-up... then you check the balance and you've basically been fed crumbs for 20 minutes.

Maybe I'm just off them lately, but give me a simpler pokie over that stuff most days. Feels like Megaways gets hyped because it looks exciting, not because it actually plays better. Had a few sessions where I was thinking surely this thing is about to pop, and nah... just rinsed.

Anyone here actually rate them long term, or are they mainly good for the odd lucky hit and a lot of dead spinning in between? Keen to hear which ones you reckon are genuinely worth a crack, because right now I think most of them are bloody overrated.

Were you mostly sitting in the base game or chasing features though? cos that makes a huge difference with these ones. If it's just flat spins for ages, yeah, they can absolutely do your head in.

My little tip with that style is I check the paytable first and see whether the base game can actually do anything. If it looks like the whole design is just wait, wait, wait for a bonus, I skip it. The ones I can tolerate usually have at least some random stuff happening outside the feature.

I've had a lot more luck treating them as short-session games. When they go cold they chew through a balance quick smart, and the real trap is all the near-miss noise making you think it's warming up when it isn't. That's the part that got me more than the dead spins.

I don't really agree that the format itself is overrated. I think plenty of people just go into it wanting the same rhythm as a simpler reel setup, and that's never what they're getting. Those games are more about volatility and weird bursty runs than steady entertainment.
