question Star ratings mean bugger all sometimes — whose write-ups do you trust?

Been bouncing around a few casino sites lately and half the stuff you read feels a bit off... either weirdly glowing or full rage post, nothing in between.

When I'm checking a place out, I mostly want the boring stuff first — how fast they actually pay, whether verification turns into a week-long pain in the arse, if support replies like real humans, and whether the pokies list is decent once you've signed up and had a proper look. Bonus chat is fine too, but I care more about whether the site runs smoothly and doesn't muck you around when it's time to cash out.

Problem is, heaps of review pages all say the same thing with different wording, so I end up trusting forum comments more, even then you've gotta sort through the obvious sooks and shills. Bit of a mission sometimes.

Curious how everyone else does it — do you go by player comments, watchdog sites, Trustpilot type ratings, or just chuck in a small deposit and test the waters yourself? And what are the red flags that make you close the tab straight away?

If you've got a checklist for new sites, post it up. Keen to see what other people reckon actually matters and what info is basically useless.

same here. One thing I reckon gets missed is checking the cashier before you even sign up properly - if they make it hard to see withdrawal methods, limits, or whether you can cancel a cashout, I bail. If the money-out side feels hidden, that's usually enough for me.
