question After a few years punting around, which bookies are you lot still using?

Been cycling through a fair few local books the last few years and I'm at the point where the flashy signup stuff means bugger all to me now. More interested in which ones are actually solid once you've had an account for a while and you're betting every week, not just chucking on a random same game multi on a Friday night.

For me the big things are pretty simple - decent odds that don't get trimmed to death, withdrawals that don't drag on, verification that isn't a circus, and an app/site that doesn't have a meltdown right when the AFL or NRL is about to start. Live betting setup matters too, and whether they start getting funny with limits the second you have a couple of good weekends.

Some are fine for racing but ordinary for sport, some are good for promos early then go a bit stingy, some are just painful to use full stop. I don't really care who has the loudest ads anymore... just want a bookie that's reliable and not a headache every second arvo.

Keen to hear what everyone is sticking with lately. Who's been good for you, who's gone downhill, and who starts carrying on once you actually win a bit?

Are you mostly betting into early prices or just around kickoff? asking because a few of them feel fine right up until the Friday arvo rush, then the app starts doing that spinning wheel nonsense and half your slips need redoing.

I wouldn't write off the promo side completely. Not the signup fluff, more the ongoing boosts and refund bits. If two books are hanging basically the same price, that extra stuff is sometimes the only reason I bother using one over the other.

best tip on that part is do the ID checks before you ever need a withdrawal. Seriously. I started doing it as soon as I open an account now and it saves a lot of stuffing around later. Also worth keeping a screenshot of any odd market or boosted bet, support can get fuzzy when you actually need them.

Nah, I'm closer to Sam on it than Jules. The boosts are mostly there to keep the mug punter happy. Once a book clocks that you're not just spraying random bets around, the shiny stuff stops mattering pretty quick because your stake gets chopped or the bet just won't go through.

I'm always skeptical of blanket recommendations in threads like this. A place can seem great if someone is only betting big mainstream games, then feel terrible once you move into smaller markets or start taking prices early. People can be talking about completely different experiences without realising it.
