question Before I sign up with a new bookie, what do you check first?

Been poking around for a new place to have a punt on the footy and races, and half the stuff you find online reads like it was written by someone who has never actually used the site. Every bookie is apparently fast payouts, great odds, top promos... yeah right lol. Makes it hard to tell what is legit and what is just fluff.

So when you lot are sussing out a betting site, what do you actually pay attention to first? Withdrawals, same game multi options, the app not being a dog, live betting, ID checks dragging on for days, limits after a win... that sort of stuff. Keen to hear which ones have been solid for you and which ones gave you the shits.

If you have got any go-to spots for honest player opinions, chuck them in too. I would rather hear from real punters here than some glossy write-up. Mainly AFL and NRL for me, bit of racing on the side if that changes anything.

Most of those writeups are just affiliate mush, mate. First thing I look for is how easy it is to find the rules on abandoned games, cash out glitches, palp stuff, all the annoying fine print they tuck away. If that bit's buried or written like legal soup, I bail.

My little test is boring but it saves headaches: do the ID check before you get attached to the account, make a small deposit, place one or two tiny bets, then try a withdrawal early. You learn more from that than from ten glossy writeups.

I got burned by a place that looked fine until there was a postponed match and suddenly the market rules mattered. Took ages to work out whether it was being voided or rolled over and support just pasted the terms back at me. Since then I judge them hard on how they handle weird situations, not just the headline odds.

honestly bigger than promos for me. If I'm trying to get on close to kick-off and the thing starts hanging or boots me out of the multi builder, bloody useless. Nice odds mean bugger all if you can't get the bet on.

yeah the weird-event stuff is where they show their true colours. I usually search the brand on forums with words like limit or verification before I even bother signing up, saves a heap of stuffing around.
