question Before signing up with a new bookie, do you bother with the write-ups?

Been looking at a couple of new sportsbooks lately and half the sites doing the write-ups all seem to say basically the same thing... great app, fast payouts, plenty of markets, blah blah. Hard to tell who's actually used the bookie and who's just copying each other.

I’m more keen on the stuff that actually matters once you’ve had an account for a bit — how painful the verification is, whether they start limiting you straight away, if the odds are any good on AFL/NRL, and whether withdrawals are sweet or turn into a bloody back-and-forth with support.

Do you lot even bother reading those comparison/review pages anymore, or do you just trust forum chat and your own trial run? If there are any decent places for proper honest opinions on Aussie-facing bookies, chuck them in. Curious what people here actually look for before signing up.

I use the review pages just to build a shortlist, then do a little test myself. Sign up, go through the ID stuff early, have a tiny punt, and see how easy it is to get an actual human on support if something goes sideways. If they start making you resend docs or dance around simple questions, bin it.
