question Before the first jumps: who do you trust for form?

Been trying to get a bit more organised with the horses instead of just backing something that looks good 10 mins before jump 😅 Curious what you lot actually use these days for your form — full replays, speed maps, ratings, stable mail, a tipster, just your own notes?

I mostly stick to the metro meetings and the bigger Saturday cards, but I dip into provincials too if something catches my eye. Feels like there’s heaps of noise out there and half the so-called best bets are just everyone copying everyone else. Keen to know what actually helps you narrow a race down without disappearing into a 2-hour rabbit hole every arvo.

If you’ve got a routine, chuck it in. Even simple stuff like what you look at first — barrier, tempo, jockey switch, track pattern, trials, whatever. Would be good to hear how other punters sort the good info from the bloody fluff.

My shortcut is pretty boring but it saves me from chewing up the whole arvo. I look at the map first, then the class setup. If I can't work out who gets a soft run and who might be posted deep, I usually just leave the race alone. Replays only come in after that, mostly to see if a run was better than it looked on paper. Stable mail and all that... I barely touch it now, too much noise.
