question Chucked a few of the arvo race picks on today — better than usual or just dumb luck?

Had a bit of a look through a few racing picks this morning and actually followed a couple for once instead of just backing my own fancies. Ended up with one decent collect, one total flop, and one place that nearly made me look smarter than I am. Felt like the better ones were the blokes giving an actual reason for the pick, not just tipping the shortie and moving on.

What I'm still trying to work out is whether any of these daily picks are properly worth following long term or if it's mostly just a lucky patch here and there. Some seem to find value pretty well, especially in the mid-odds range, but others feel like they could've been picked by throwing a dart at the form guide at the servo.

Anyone got a go-to source you reckon is decent lately? Not after miracle workers or anything, just keen to hear who's been finding solid runners more often than not. Metro, country, roughies, whatever really.

yeah that's basically my view. I reckon heaps of them are just putting fancy words around whatever the market already liked. If a tipster isn't posting early and owning the stinkers as well, I stop reading real quick.
