question Late mail seems bigger than ever lately — where are you getting your reads?

Been seeing a lot more chatter lately about stable mail, sectional stuff, yard updates, little tracker apps etc, feels like every second punter has some new angle now. Even before the Saturday arvo races the markets seem to move quicker than they used to, so I’m kinda wondering what people are actually using and what’s just noise.

I still have a look at the basics first, but heaps of the online stuff now looks way more detailed than it did a couple years back. Some of it looks handy, some of it looks like blokes just guessing with confidence haha. Keen to know if anyone’s found a source they reckon is genuinely worth following, especially for metro meetings.

Are you lot mostly going off form, speed maps, track patterns, trainer/jockey stats, or just waiting for the late push before the jump? And if there’s been anything new pop up lately that’s actually decent, chuck it in here. Curious what everyone’s leaning on at the moment.

Do you keep your own replay notes too or just use what's out there? I get more out of spotting one that never saw daylight late than any fancy app tbh.

I binned most of the stable whisper stuff ages ago. Had a better run once I started doing a quick map after scratchings and then just seeing if the price still holds near jump. Curious if anyone else thinks the early mail mostly turns into noise by post time.

same here, replays save me more than anything. If one copped a shocking run and still found the line, I'm way more keen on that than some tip sheet getting flogged all arvo.

Bit harsh maybe lol. Plenty of the free stuff is decent if you already know what you're looking for. The bigger trap to me is punters treating every late move like gospel when half the time the value's already gone.
