question Most of the Saturday mail is rubbish — who do you lot actually rate?

I’ve gone through a fair few form pages, tipping accounts, bookie previews, little paid subs, the whole lot... and honestly heaps of it feels like copy-paste garbage. Same 3 favourites everyone already found, a vague “maps well” line, then they disappear when the roughies blow them out. Bit hard to call that proper mail.

The stuff I’ve had the most luck with is usually the more specific gear — track pattern chat that isn’t obvious yet, a jockey switch that actually matters, trial notes, stable runners first-up, that sort of thing. If someone’s just tipping the shortest horse in every second race and calling it a day, I’m out. Especially on the big metro cards where every man and his dog suddenly turns into an expert.

I reckon free stuff can still be decent if the person behind it actually watches races and isn’t just recycling the market. Paid picks though... bloody hell, some of them are shameless. Nice winning screenshot on a Wednesday at Warrnambool, then no mention of the five ordinary days before it. Seen that more than once.

So yeah, bit of a vent, but also curious who people here genuinely rate for the local gallops. Doesn’t have to be some miracle punter, just someone whose read is actually useful. Even if it’s just one site, one account, one old mate on the radio in the arvo. Keen to hear what’s worked for you and what’s been a waste of coin.

I dunno if I'd write off the paid stuff completely. A few of the better form guys are still useful if they leave the losses up and actually explain the bet, especially on the smaller meetings where the market can miss one. The real giveaway for me is when someone only shows results and never the thinking.
