Feels like the last few meetings have been shaped just as much by late info as the form guide itself. A few well-backed runners have drifted after track downgrades, and there have been heaps of scratchings close to jump time, so the old set-and-forget punt hasn’t looked too flash lately.
With more punters talking about track pattern, sectional times and stable form instead of just starting price, I was curious what everyone here is leaning on most right now. Are you waiting until the final 10 or 15 minutes before backing anything, or still happy to take an early price if the map looks right?
Also keen to hear if people are playing the metro cards differently from the provincials at the moment. Bit of rain, jockey changes, shorter fields, leaders getting favours some days and swoopers on others... seems like there’s a fair bit going on from meeting to meeting.
If you’ve got a solid approach that’s been holding up lately, chuck it in here. Nothing fancy needed, even just what you look at first before having a bet would be handy for the thread.
