question Tailed a few morning race picks this week — decent or just noise?

Been mucking around with the daily racing picks this week instead of doing my usual full form dive before work. Thought it'd save a bit of time... honestly, a lot of them feel like someone looked at the market for 10 seconds and chucked the favourite on top. Not much there.

A couple were actually pretty handy though, mainly when they talked about track pattern stuff or a runner dropping back into the right grade. Those ones I don't mind. The really vague write-ups do my head in a bit — "should run well" yeah no worries mate, thanks for that. I got more out of using them as a rough shortlist for the arvo instead of backing them blind.

Anyone else been following the free picks floating around lately? Keen to hear which ones are actually worth a squiz, especially for the midweek meetings. Feels like there's heaps of filler out there but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong spots.

Best way I've found to use those free picks is to ignore the actual selection first and look at the reasoning. If they mention map, track pattern or class drop, I keep it in the shortlist. If it's just fluff, bin it. Saves chewing through heaps of rubbish before the first.
