question Track's gone heavy in a few meets — any late mail?

Bit happening already with the meetings this arvo — a few scratchings, some tracks chopping out, and a couple of runners getting backed pretty hard this morning. I was keen on one early, then the price got whacked and now I'm half thinking I've missed the good number.

Anyone got a decent read on the better races later on? Mostly looking at the ones where the weather's made things messy, cos that's usually where it gets interesting and the market can do weird stuff. If you've seen any trial notes, jockey switches, stable chat or even just a runner you reckon is being slept on, chuck it in here.

I've got a couple of roughies circled but I'm waiting to see if the track stays in the soft range before I do anything. Keen to see what everyone else is backing today.

I reckon the safer angle on a day like this is to stick with runners that have already handled give in the ground, not the flashy dry-track ones getting all the early chat. If one is shortening just off stable noise and hasn't really had to dig through a soft deck before, I usually let it go and look for the tougher type that's been around the mark in similar conditions.
