question Wet tracks this weekend could flip a heap of form

Bit of news around the meetings this weekend with rain about and a few early market moves already happening. If the tracks stay in the soft/heavy range, some of the form people are looking at from midweek is gonna get turned on its head pretty quick.

When it gets like this I stop caring so much about flashy last-start finishes and go straight to setup stuff — who handles the ground, who gets through it, which stables actually place them well when it gets testing. Plenty of punters still back a shortie off a tidy run on a good deck, then wonder why it folds at the 300 when the sting comes out of the track.

Also keeping an eye on late rider changes and scratchings. That can completely change the map, especially in the smaller fields. One leader comes out and suddenly the swoopers are in a better spot, or the only horse that can roll forward gets left alone and pinches it. Happens all the time and blokes still bet the race like nothing changed.

I reckon this is one of those weekends where tempo and track pattern will matter more than raw class in a few races. If you're keen, chuck in what you're looking at this week — sectionals, wet-track stats, jumpouts, stable mail, whatever's been working for you lately.

Yep, spot on. Wet days can make the pretty form guide look useless real quick, and people still pile into the short ones like the track's playing fair.
