Bit of a rant, but the racing content floating around lately is doing my head in. Every preview, every so-called expert pick, every little mail update on socials... it all feels copied from the same bloke. Favourite on top, second fav for value, then chuck in some vague line about the map and track condition and call it a day. That's not exactly helping anyone find an edge, is it.
Feels like the whole scene has gone more polished and somehow less useful at the same time. Heaps of graphics, sectionals, fancy ratings, all that gear - and half of them still land on the same obvious runners everyone already had. If that's where things are heading, punters are paying for noise more than info. I reckon the stuff that still matters is pretty old-school really: watching replays properly, knowing which stables are flying, spotting when a horse is up in trip at the right time, and reading the track pattern before everyone else catches on.
Curious what you lot are actually using now. Are you still following tipsters, doing your own form, listening for stable mail, or just waiting for late market moves? Keen to hear what still works for people, because the current flood of racing advice looks bloody busy but not especially sharp.
