question Do you lot actually change your bet size on pokies, or just set a limit and cop it?

I keep seeing people talk like there’s some magic way to size bets on slots and I honestly reckon most of it is bloody nonsense. If a game is cold, bumping from 60c to $1.20 doesn’t suddenly make the machine respect you lol.

What I do care about is not burning through the whole bankroll in 20 minutes like a goose. So I’m curious what you lot actually do when you sit down for a session. Flat bet the whole time? Start small then bump it after a feature? Drop down after a few dead spins? Hard stop once you lose a certain amount?

I’m pretty skeptical of those chase-it-back systems where people keep upping the bet after every miss. Feels like a fast track to doing your dough. But I also think sitting on the absolute minimum forever can be pointless on some games, especially when the bonus feels rubbish unless you’re at a decent bet level.

Keen to hear what real players stick to and whether you’ve found anything that actually helps you last longer without turning the whole arvo into maths homework. Got any rules you never break?

yeah nah, I sort of disagree with this bit. Not because the reels magically wake up, they don't, but because some slots are absolute rubbish at tiny bets if the feature finally lands and pays next to nothing. I look at it more like picking a level where a hit is actually worth the dry spell. If that level feels too rich for the bankroll, I just bin the game.
