question Seeing a lot more chatter about betting models lately — what’s changed?

Been seeing a bit of news and forum chatter lately around betting models, staking plans, algorithm picks, that sort of gear. Not really talking about one magic trick to beat the bookies, more that there seems to be a fresh wave of apps, paid Discord groups, and data-driven punters popping up again.

A few things seem to be feeding it from what I can tell — more public stats tools, easier access to odds comparison stuff, AI getting jammed into everything, and heaps more content from tipsters explaining edges in a way regular punters can actually follow. Even some of the mainstream betting coverage has started mentioning modelling and line shopping a lot more than it used to.

What I’m curious about is whether anyone here reckons anything has genuinely changed, or if it’s just the same old cycle with a new coat of paint. Feels like every few years there’s another run where people get keen on spreadsheets, staking formulas, automation, whatever, then reality kicks in pretty quick.

Also wondering if anyone has noticed books reacting differently lately — limits faster, promos getting tighter, more attention on accounts that bet weird markets, that kind of thing. Could just be me reading too much into it, but it does feel like the space is getting a bit more serious than the old “pick a winner on the arvo game and hope for the best” style.

If you’ve been following this side of punting, chuck in what you’ve seen. News pieces, tools, trends, whether the newer model-based stuff is actually useful for everyday punters or mostly just noise.

Yep, this is basically it. I reckon most of the new wave is the same old thing with shinier graphics and a paid chat slapped on top. If someone had a real edge, I doubt they'd be blasting it all over the internet for monthly subs.
