question Seeing staking-plan chatter again — any of you actually use one on pokies?

Been seeing a fair bit of talk lately about bankroll plans and those step-up/step-down setups for pokies again, especially the old loss-recovery ones. Feels like they go quiet for ages, then suddenly they're everywhere again.

Just to keep it grounded a bit — stuff like flat staking, doubling after a loss, pressing after a win, session stop limits etc can change how long you last and how swingy the session feels, but they don't magically change the game maths. RTP is still RTP, and a machine isn't gonna go "righto mate, your system has earned a bonus now".

Still, I get why people use them. Some punters reckon it stops them from punting too hard too early, some like having rules instead of winging it in the arvo after a couple of near misses. Keen to hear what people here are actually doing though — do you stick to a fixed stake the whole session, use a progression plan, or just set a hard deposit limit and leave it at that?

If you've tried one of the better-known setups on slots, did it help with discipline at least, or did it just make the losing streaks feel more bloody painful?

I tried the raise-it-after-every-loss thing for a while and nah, it just made me filthy when the reels stayed cold. Flat stake plus a hard stop works way better for me. If I start changing the spin size mid-session I can feel myself talking rubbish and chasing.
