Been mucking around with my game a bit lately, mostly low to mid stakes stuff, and I keep circling back to this one. Do you lot still play pretty tight early and wait for the table to spew, or are you trying to pinch heaps of little pots from the start?
I used to be patient as anything in the first levels and only really get involved with decent holdings. These days it feels like some tables are just begging to be pushed around a bit - late position opens, a few light 3-bets, c-bets on dry boards, that sort of thing. Then next session I try the same caper and suddenly I've torched a chunk of my stack for no real reason... so yeah, not exactly solved on my end.
Keen to hear what actually works for you, especially in tourneys. Are you more of a wait for spots kind of player, or do you reckon it's better to stay active and keep people under pressure early? And if your approach changes heaps between online and live, chuck that in too. Always interesting hearing how other punters think through it.
