Been seeing a fair bit lately about people tightening up preflop and using charts instead of just winging it off feel. Feels like every second clip or forum post now is pushing that angle, especially for newer players trying to stop bleeding chips early. I’m kinda curious whether this is actually helping people at the tables or if it’s just the latest thing everyone’s parroting.
I’ve always been more of a read-the-table type, bit looser in low stakes if the lineup looks soft, but now I’m wondering if I should chuck a bit more structure into it. Not talking full robot mode or anything... just whether having a basic framework has made a noticeable difference for you lot. More consistent results? Fewer dumb hero calls? Or does it go out the window once the game gets messy?
If you’ve picked up any simple adjustments lately that genuinely worked, keen to hear them. Stuff like bet sizing, when you stopped limping, how you handle position better, even one tiny thing that clicked. Feels like there’s a lot of noise around strategy right now, so I’m trying to work out what’s actually useful and what’s just fluff.
