Been trying to get a bit less punty at the low-stakes hold'em tables lately and I keep ending up in the same spot... decent hand preflop, catch top pair, then by the turn I'm talking myself into calls I probably shouldn't make. Feels like I'm either too sticky or way too cautious and missing value. Hard to tell which leak is the bigger one tbh.
For the players here who actually get this game, what was the first thing that made it all start making sense for you? Position? Hand selection? Bet sizing? I reckon I know the basics, but once the board gets a bit messy and someone starts putting heat on, my brain goes fully cooked.
Also keen to hear whether most of you keep it pretty straight at the micros or if you still chuck in the odd bluff when the spot looks right. Live or online, no worries either way — just curious what habits helped you stop bleeding chips for no reason, mate.
