question Tried a tighter-aggressive style for 2 weeks — reckon this is the best starting point?

Been messing with my poker game a bit lately, mostly low-stakes cash online after work, and I forced myself to stop splashing around with every shiny hand. Last couple weeks I've played way tighter before the flop, leaned more into value betting, and cut out heaps of the random curiosity calls... feels a lot less spewy already.

Not saying I'm suddenly some gun player lol, but the whole thing feels cleaner. Fewer gross spots, less punting off stacks because I got bored, and I tilt less when a session goes sideways. At the micros especially, I reckon people still pay off pretty generously when you finally put chips in with something decent.

Where I get a bit stuck is the next step. Opening up from late position makes sense, sure, but once the blinds start fighting back or someone starts 3-betting me, I feel like I'm back to guessing. Bit hard to tell if I'm being disciplined or just too nitty for my own good.

So yeah, small review from a bloke trying to sort his game out: the tighter-aggressive stuff has helped me heaps so far. Curious what other people here started with though. Did you build off that, or was there some other approach that clicked first?

Yeah that tracks. For low stakes, cutting the junk hands and stopping the hero calls fixes a heap of the mess straight away. Once you get to the blinds fighting back, I found it helped more to think in positions and player types than in single hands, otherwise every 3-bet feels like some massive decision when half the time it's just standard pressure.
