question When did you stop playing every hand and actually start winning?

Bit of a random one, but I'm curious what changed things for you lot. Was it learning position properly, folding way more, paying attention to bet sizing, or just finally quitting the hero-call nonsense lol. I used to think firing away every second hand meant I was doing something clever... turns out I was mostly just donating.

Lately I've been trying to keep it simple - play tighter early, stop chasing rubbish, and actually think about what the other bloke is representing instead of just staring at my own cards. Sounds obvious now, but in the middle of a session it's easy to get impatient and start punting, especially after a run of dead hands. Bloody hard to stay disciplined sometimes.

So yeah, what was the one adjustment that made the biggest difference for you? Cash games, pub comps, online, whatever. Keen to hear the stuff that actually worked in real games, not just textbook gear.

I'm a bit skeptical about the whole trying to work out what the other bloke is representing in softer games tbh. Plenty of them aren't telling a story, they're just splashing about. Biggest change for me was catching when I was getting annoyed after a few dead orbits, because that's when I'd start making up reasons to call. You reckon the reads helped you more than just sorting the tilt out?
