question Where do you tighten up first when the table gets splashy?

Been playing hold'em for years now and the funny bit is the stuff that makes the biggest difference usually isn't flashy at all. Position, not getting stubborn with one-pair hands, not defending rubbish just because you've already chucked chips in... that sort of thing. At loose tables especially, heaps of players still torch money in the same spots.

Lately I've been thinking about what adjustment matters most when a game turns into a splash-fest. For me it's usually folding more from early position and being way more honest multiway. Top pair stops being some magical hand pretty quick when three people want to come along, and the old auto c-bet gets bloody expensive if no one likes folding.

Also reckon a lot of punters miss value in the opposite direction too. If the table is full of callers, I'm not trying to run some fancy story every second orbit... I'm just betting my good made hands harder and making the sizing a bit less cute. Live games around here, especially pub stuff and low-stakes casino tables, can be like that all arvo. Online's a different beast, but even there you still see people overbluffing spots where the pool just calls too much.

Curious what you lot change first. Are you tightening opens, 3-betting more selectively, checking back more turns, value betting thinner, what? Keen to hear what adjustments have actually worked for you rather than theory-for-the-sake-of-theory stuff.

Biggest jump for me was binning the automatic flop c-bet when I raised pre and got a bunch of sticky callers. I used to fire just because it felt standard, then wonder why every pot turned annoying. Once I started checking more on boards that clearly hit the callers, I stopped lighting chips on fire so often.
