Been seeing this everywhere the last week or two - clips, streams, little strategy posts, even a couple of emailers from poker sites. Feels like the current message is basically stop punting marginal hands preflop and quit talking yourself into rubbish calls just because you’re bored.
Not exactly revolutionary stuff lol, but it does feel like the chat around the game has shifted a bit. Less hero-call glory, more "just fold and wait for a better spot". Fair enough too, games don’t seem as soft as they used to be and heaps of players have at least some clue now.
I had a session on the weekend and caught myself doing the usual punter thing, defending too wide from the blinds, floating flops with nothing much, then wondering where the stack went. Tightened up after that and it was instantly less messy. Bit boring maybe, but better than lighting money on fire.
Curious what you lot reckon is actually the biggest adjustment right now if someone’s trying to sharpen up a bit. Is it preflop discipline, bet sizing, folding top pair more often, picking softer tables, whatever. Keen to hear what’s working for people lately, especially in the lower to mid stakes where half the table is still capable of absolute chaos.
