Been mucking around with the live tables a fair bit this week instead of pokies, mostly blackjack, roulette and a bit of baccarat late in the arvo. Thought I’d chuck up a quick review type post because the experience can be pretty different depending on where you play. The main thing for me was stream quality and how smooth the lobby is. If the video lags or it takes ages to jump between tables, I’m out pretty quick. A decent setup feels close enough to sitting at a real table, dodgy setup just feels clunky and kills it.
Blackjack was still the easiest one to settle into. Fast enough, simple to follow, and you can usually find a table that suits your bankroll without too much stuffing around. Roulette was a bit more hit and miss. Some tables had heaps of side chat and a good dealer, which made it more fun, others felt dead quiet and weirdly slow between spins. Baccarat looked slick but if you’re not already into it, it can feel a bit like you’re just clicking banker or player and waiting. Not bad, just less engaging for me personally.
A couple of things I reckon matter more than people say: table limits, rule variations, and how pushy the side bets are. Some sites make the side bets look way too tempting, and before you know it your balance is disappearing a lot faster than expected. Mobile play was alright on most of the ones I tried, though a few lobbies were a bloody pain on a smaller screen. If you’re into the live stuff, what do you rate at the moment? Keen to hear which games you stick with and what actually makes a table worth staying on for you.
