question Before I chuck money on a new site, what do you check first?

I’ve been trying to sort through a few casino sites lately and half the stuff you find online feels a bit dodgy or too polished to trust. Same few talking points everywhere, heaps of 5 star praise, not much real detail. If you’re in Aus and checking out a site for the first time, what do you actually look at before signing up or depositing?

For me the big ones are usually withdrawal speed, whether they mess you around with verification, if support is actually reachable, and whether the pokies library is proper decent or just looks big until you click around. I also pay attention to payment methods, max cashout rules, bonus terms hiding in the fine print, stuff like that. Ngl I care more about hearing from actual players than reading another polished write-up.

So yeah, keen to know how you lot judge a site these days. Do you trust forum feedback more than review pages? Any red flags that make you bail straight away? And if there are a few places that have been consistently solid for Aussie players lately, chuck them in here too.

Yep, that line nails it. I reckon the flashiest sites are often the first ones I bin. If the promo is screaming at you but the cashier limits, country rules or plain old contact details are buried three pages deep, I'm out. Got caught once depositing easy enough, then suddenly the method I used wasn't the one they wanted for cashing out. Since then I trust grumpy forum posts way more than shiny write-ups, mate.

One thing I do now is treat sign-up itself like a test. I make a tiny deposit, poke around the account area, and see if basic stuff is easy to find: limits, activity history, documents, closing the account, support hours. A lot of places look fine until you need something boring and the menu turns into a maze. If it feels clunky before I’ve even played, I usually stop there.

Best tip from getting burnt a few times: leave bonuses off unless you actually want one. Bloody annoying how many dramas start because the promo was auto-ticked and then every spin ends up tied to rules you never meant to accept. I screenshot the cashier page and any offer I do take too, saves a lot of back and forth later if support starts talking in circles.
