question Do you trust star ratings on casino sites or just what punters say here?

Been wondering this lately... when you’re checking out a new casino, where do you actually go for the real story? Half the write-ups I stumble across feel a bit too shiny, like every site is somehow a 9.8/10 and “great for everyone” which... yeah nah.

I’m more keen on the stuff actual players mention — cashout times, whether verification turns into a bloody saga, if support goes missing when you need them, that sort of thing. Bonus talk is fine I guess, but I care more about whether a site is smooth once you’ve signed up and chucked a bit on.

So what do you lot trust most? Forum posts, comparison pages, Trustpilot-type ratings, Reddit, just word of mouth from mates? And if you do read those site write-ups, what makes one seem legit instead of pure fluff?

If anyone’s found a decent way to sniff out the dodgy ones before depositing, keen to hear it.

I actually don’t rate forum chatter as the first stop, reckon it’s too swingy. Most posts are from people who just hit big or got ropeable during docs. I check the boring bits first instead, like whether the licence stuff is easy to find, the banking page isn’t vague, and support answers like a real person before I even bother having a proper go.

Yep, that bit. If a review can’t mention one normal annoying thing, I’m out. I go straight to the bad reviews and just see if the same complaint keeps popping up, way more useful than the score.

One thing that started standing out for me after bouncing around a few sites: constant rebrands and mirror domains. Makes old feedback hard to trust because you can’t tell if people were even talking about the same setup. If the help page looks copied, the cashier wording changed three times, and there’s no clear trail of who runs it, that’s usually enough for me to leave it alone.
