question Most Aussie casino write-ups are rubbish, here's what I actually check

Bit of a rant, but I swear half the write-ups for casinos here all read the same. Same recycled bonus talk, same "great game selection" line, same stock screenshots... then you sign up and the real stuff is nowhere near as rosy.

What I care about is pretty simple: do they pay without dragging it out for days, do they go silly with KYC after you've already deposited, are the pokies decent or just filler, and is support actually around when something goes sideways. That's the stuff that matters, not 800 words about how "exciting" the lobby looks.

I've had a few where the review made them sound like a ripper, then withdrawals were capped to the point of being a joke, or the wagering terms were buried in the fine print like they were trying to stitch you up. Ngl, once that happens I don't really care how flashy the site is.

So if you're checking out a new place, what do you trust more: forum posts from actual punters, or those big ranking sites? Reckon other players here have probably saved me more grief than any polished review page ever has.

Chuck in a few names too if you've found casinos that actually matched the hype... or ones that were bloody ordinary the second you got past the signup screen.

Reckon the big list sites are mostly good for spotting who paid for a better spot, not much else. First thing I look for now is whether they mention pending withdrawals and if you can reverse a cashout back into the balance, if a write-up skips that and just yaps about the welcome offer I keep scrolling.

yeah this bit. Little tip I use now, I message support before I put anything in and ask something dull like how verification works or when docs get checked. You can usually tell in about two replies if they're actually reading your question or just firing canned stuff back. anyone else do that or am I just paranoid now

The support test is a good shout. I also ignore any review that never mentions the annoying stuff like withdrawal caps, excluded games on bonuses, country restrictions, or extra document requests after a win. If a page has zero negatives on it, that's usually enough for me.

For the people checking pending periods and reverse withdrawals, what counts as an instant red flag for you? Keen to tighten up my own checklist before trying anywhere new.
