question Before I chuck money on a new bookie, what do you check first?

Been looking at a couple of sports betting sites lately and half the write-ups I find feel a bit dodgy or way too polished... like they all say the same thing and none of it tells you what actually matters once you've signed up.

What I really want to know is the stuff punters here usually notice straight away — are the odds decent for NRL/AFL, do they mess you around on verification, are withdrawals pretty quick, is the app usable or a complete pain, that sort of thing.

I also reckon some sites look great until you actually try doing a multi or cashing out and then the weird little issues start showing up. That's usually the part the glossy review pages skip over.

So when you're checking out a new bookie, what do you pay attention to first? And are there any places you trust for honest opinions, or do you mostly go off forum posts and word of mouth from other Aussie punters?

Keen to hear which sites you've had no worries with lately, and which ones gave you the bloody runaround.

little tip I use now: before I even chuck money in, I hit their live chat with a boring account question and see how they handle it. If they take ages, dodge the question, or paste some useless script, I bail. Also worth having a squiz through the rules for cash out and multis because that's where the annoying stuff usually hides.
