question Been trying a set bet ladder... does anyone else do this?

I muck around with pokies pretty casually, but lately I've been trying to be a bit less random with my bets instead of just chucking on whatever feels right in the moment.

What I've been doing is starting low, giving a game a set number of spins, then only nudging the bet up if it's looking a bit lively or I've built a small buffer. If I'm getting nowhere, I drop back down or bail. Sounds simple enough, but once you're in the session it's easy to go off script hey.

Just wondering how you lot handle it. Do you go in with a proper bankroll routine, like fixed bet sizes and stop points, or do you just play by feel on the arvo and see where it goes?

Also keen to know if anyone's found certain approaches that actually help stretch the balance a bit longer without turning the whole thing into hard work. Not chasing some magic formula or anything, just curious what real players are doing.

Would be good to hear the way you set it up before a session starts... especially if you've tried a few different methods and binned the ones that were bloody useless.

that's the part I reckon gets dangerous tbh. A machine looking lively is usually just me seeing patterns that aren't really there. Once I start doing that, the session goes sideways fast, so I stick to one bet and leave it alone.
