I went pretty hard on this stuff for a while - doubling after losses, little ladder setups, target profit routines, even that Fibonacci carry-on... looked clever on paper, felt clever for about a week, then the wheels came off. Reckon half of these so-called methods are just a fancy way of making a bad price feel smart. If the odds are crap, the plan wrapped around it is still crap.
The one that annoyed me most was the chase style stuff. Works fine until it absolutely doesn't, then suddenly you're having a sweaty arvo needing some short-priced favourite just to get square again. Bloody horrible way to punt. Flat staking has been the least stupid for me by a mile. Bit boring, sure, but at least your bankroll doesn't get sent to the moon because one "safe" leg blew up.
My honest take now is most people get way too obsessed with the pattern of bets and not enough with finding actual value. Bookies love punters mucking around with magic formulas because it keeps everyone focused on the wrong thing. Happy to be proven wrong though - anyone here actually had a setup hold up over a full AFL or NRL season, not just a hot fortnight where everything felt easy?
