question Jumping from pub games to online tables... what clicked for you first?

Been trying to take poker a bit more seriously lately and geez, feels like there are about 50 things to learn at once. I know the basics of how the game works, but once people start talking about position, ranges, bet sizing, pot odds and all that, my brain sort of clocks off a bit.

Right now I reckon my biggest leak is probably playing too many hands just because I'm bored and keen for a crack. Then I end up chasing stuff I probably should've binned pre-flop and next minute I'm wondering where the buy-in went. Feels obvious typing it out, but yeah... easier said than done in the moment.

If you were starting from scratch again, what would you focus on first? Just learning which hands to play? Folding more? Table position? Bankroll stuff? Or is there one simple habit that made everything click for you? Keen to hear how other people approached it without getting buried in the really technical stuff straight away.

First thing I'd drill is folding preflop and being a bit ruthless about it. New players love seeing flops because it's fun, but getting involved with junk from bad spots is just burning chips. If a hand feels like a maybe, bin it and wait.
