question So the helper-tool crackdowns are finally happening — good riddance?

Been seeing more talk lately about poker rooms tightening up on HUDs, live charts, dodgy assist tools and all that stuff. Honestly... good. Was getting a bit ridiculous. Half the player pool felt like copy-paste robots clicking the same lines because some bloody chart told them to.

I still reckon studying properly matters heaps, before anyone jumps on me. Run sims, learn spots, work on ranges, sweet. That's part of the game now. But having something basically hold your hand while you're in a hand? Nah. Different thing. If these crackdowns keep going, maybe we'll actually get back to people making real decisions instead of playing like a tired solver on autopilot.

What I'm curious about is whether this changes how you lot are preparing now. More focus on population reads? More exploit stuff? Less obsession with trying to mimic perfect play in every single spot? Feels like the pendulum's swinging a bit and maybe that's not a bad thing.

Maybe I'm old school, mate, but I'd much rather play in games where timing, notes, weird pool habits and gutsy adjustments still matter. Keen to hear what everyone reckons — are these rule changes actually going to improve games, or will the serious grinders just find the next workaround by Friday arvo?

One thing that's helped me lately is writing my own little spot notes after a session, not during it. If I can't explain why a check or bet makes sense in one plain sentence, I probably never really knew the spot in the first place. Curious how many people here do that instead of just rerunning sims straight away.
