Been back on the low-stakes tables lately and I swear half my leaks start before the flop even lands. I keep talking myself into hands that look playable for about 2 seconds, then next thing I’m stuck out of position with rubbish and donating chips like a goose.
For the regulars here, what was the one change that actually made a proper difference to your game? Folding more from early spots, 3-betting wider, not marrying top pair, slowing down with small pocket pairs... whatever it was. Keen to hear the stuff that genuinely clicked for you, especially in the smaller games where people do all sorts of weird stuff and standard advice goes out the window.
Mine at the moment is probably calling too often just because a bloke looks like he’s having a crack. Works once, then costs me heaps for the next hour haha. What do you reckon is the biggest mistake most players make in hold'em when they’re trying to move from just playing for fun to actually winning a bit more?
