question Freebie sign-up offers - decent score or just a time sink?

Been seeing heaps of casinos doing the little freebie sign-up thing lately, like a few spins or a small balance just for joining, no need to chuck money in first. Sounds good when you're bored in the arvo and just wanna test a site, but some of them feel a bit dodgy once you read the fine print...

What I wanna know is whether anyone here has actually got anything decent out of them, or if it's mostly just massive wagering, weird game restrictions, and then KYC hoops when you finally hit something. I reckon I've had more "almost worth it" ones than proper good ones.

Curious what you lot look for before bothering with these offers. Do you check max cashout first, only go for free spins, avoid certain providers, that sort of thing? Keen to hear which ones felt fair and which ones were a bloody waste of time.

I reckon they're not as bad as people make out. I use em more like a test drive than a money-maker, and if a site wants passport stuff before I've even had a spin I just bin it and move on.
