question 2026 mobile update rollouts: which pokies app has actually improved?

Seeing a fair few operators push app updates lately, so thought it was worth a thread for the mobile side of pokies specifically. Feels like this year a lot of them are going harder on quicker logins, cleaner game lobbies, face/fingerprint sign-in, and faster ID checks straight in the app instead of sending you off to a browser.

For anyone mostly playing on their phone, the little stuff matters heaps more than the flashy ads. Stuff like whether the slots load properly on dodgy 4G, whether the search/filtering is any good, if the app logs you out every five minutes, and whether deposits/withdrawals are smooth without some bloody spinning wheel forever.

I have also seen a few people mention some apps are dropping support for older Android versions now, and a couple seem to run hotter on battery than they used to. On the flip side, a few of the newer builds look a lot less cluttered, which is nice for a quick spin in the arvo.

If you've used a few lately, which ones feel properly sorted in 2026 and which ones are still a pain? Keen to hear what people are finding on iPhone vs Android too, especially for pokies players rather than sports bettors.

Quick tip if you're trying a few on mobile: read the last couple update notes and the newest store reviews before you even install. If the same complaint keeps popping up about crashes or logouts, it's usually not just one grumpy punter. Also rate the ones that remember your last stake or filter when you hop out and back in, little thing but worth a squiz.

Yep, that's exactly where half of them still fall over. Fancy icon, slick splash screen, then you hit cashout and suddenly it's a janky web page inside the app asking for the same stuff again. I don't buy the whole native app talk when it feels like a browser with a badge.

iPhone's been mostly fine for me on loading, but I had an update wipe my saved login and notification prefs twice. Not the end of the world, just annoying. Anyone else getting sound settings reset after updates or is my phone just being weird?

I started opening a couple games on wifi before heading out, seems to cache enough that they're way less painful on shaky reception later. If an app still stutters after that I just bin it, you're sweet using the mobile site instead for a quick session.

The ones that do my head in are the apps that fully reload when you jump to your banking app and back. Lose the lobby spot, lose the search, lose whatever you were lining up... tells me nobody on their team actually plays on a phone. If it can't hold state for thirty seconds I'm not keeping it installed.
