question Been testing a few footy staking plans... flat bets still king or nah?

Had a bit of a muck-around lately with different ways of backing AFL/NRL and I keep ending up in the same spot. The fancy stuff looks clever on paper, then one rough round comes along and suddenly the whole thing feels a bit cooked. I gave a chase-style setup a run, tried a percentage-of-bankroll approach, then went back to boring flat stakes and weirdly that felt the least stressful by a mile.

Not saying I cracked anything, far from it lol. More just doing a casual review from my own punting and seeing what actually feels usable once real money is on. The chase ones had me checking scores like a maniac, and the tighter bankroll method was probably smarter, just slower and not as exciting if I'm honest. Flat staking was dead simple, no dramas, but maybe I'm missing a trick there?

Keen to hear what other blokes on here reckon. Do any of those structured setups genuinely hold up over a season, or do they mostly just make a spreadsheet look pretty in the arvo? If you've got one that isn't complete bloody chaos after a losing streak, chuck it in here.

I reckon that's usually the least painful way to do it. The minute the stake starts climbing after a miss, my brain stops caring about the pick and just starts thinking about the recovery. Did you notice the ugly runs felt worse because of the bigger next bet, or were the actual reads falling apart too?
