Seen a fair few punting pages and tipster accounts lately pushing those old progression setups again - double after a loss, press after a win, little recovery ladders dressed up like some new discovery. Gave me a bit of a laugh because most of us who have been around a while have seen the same thing come back every couple of years with a fresh name slapped on it.
The part newer punters usually don’t get told is how quick those systems can go feral when the bad run finally lands. Looks tidy on a screenshot, looks bloody clever after a nice weekend, then one rough patch or a bookie limit and the whole thing falls in a heap. Doesn’t matter whether it’s sports, races, whatever - if the staking plan needs everything to behave nicely, I’m already suss on it.
For me the only stuff that still holds up is the boring gear... fixed units, proper bankroll split, knowing when to pull your head in. Not sexy, not something a bloke can sell as a magic formula, but it keeps you alive long enough to actually judge whether your edge is real.
Keen to hear what everyone else is seeing lately. Are these recycled systems popping up more on your feeds too, or have you come across anything newer that’s actually worth testing over a decent sample and not just one hot arvo?
