question Martingale chewed through my balance way too quick

Been mucking around with a few different ways of sizing my spins lately and yeah... the doubling-up thing is easily the worst one for me. Looks clever for about 10 minutes, then you hit a rough patch and suddenly you're chucking way more on a spin than you meant to. Proper bankroll killer.

What actually felt better was keeping it dead simple. Same stake most of the session, small enough that a dry run doesn't ruin the whole arvo. I also tried nudging it up a bit only after a decent bonus hit, which felt a lot less cooked than chasing after losses. Still no magic trick obviously, pokies are gonna do what they do, but at least I wasn't torching the balance in 5 mins.

The only stuff I reckon genuinely helped was boring money management stuff - setting a hard cap before I start, splitting the deposit into little chunks, and when it's gone, no reloads. Not sexy, but heaps better than trying to outsmart random spins. The flashy systems sound good until the maths bites you.

Curious what you lot have landed on. Anyone actually stick with one method long term, or do you just go by feel depending on the game? Keen to hear what's worked for you, or what blew up in your face so the rest of us can avoid the bloody thing.

yeah nah I reckon even that can get slippery fast. Soon as I start thinking the extra balance is somehow safer to punt with, I get loose and the whole session goes a bit bloody sideways. Random's still random.
