Been mucking around with a few different ways of staking my spins lately just to see if any of it actually changes much. Nothing fancy, just flat bets, the old double-up-after-a-loss idea, and a smaller step-up when a bonus lands or a decent hit comes through. Thought I’d have a clear favourite by now but nah... still a bit on the fence.
The flat stake way felt the least stressful by a mile. Bankroll lasted longer, I wasn’t getting as tilted, and I wasn’t doing that classic thing where you start chasing because the machine has gone cold for 20 mins. The doubling-up one looked alright on paper for about five minutes, then one rough patch and it turned into a bloody pain. You chew through funds way quicker than you think. The little press-after-a-win thing was probably the most fun, but I also gave a fair bit back doing it because once you get rolling you start feeling a bit too clever.
So if I’m being honest, the only bit that felt properly useful was the boring stuff... setting a spend before I start, deciding what counts as enough for the session, and not chucking more in just because I’m annoyed. Not exactly a revolutionary discovery, mate.
Curious what everyone else is doing though. Do you actually stick with one method when you play, or just go by feel depending on the game and the arvo? Keen to hear if anyone’s found something that helps them stay in the game longer without turning it into hard work.
