question What made hold'em finally click for you?

Been mucking around with low-stakes hold'em lately and I'm realising I probably learned the game in the most cooked way possible — mostly from mates, random vids, and punting a bit too hard when I felt "due" lol.

The bit I'm trying to sort out is what actually matters most once you get past the absolute basics. Is it mainly position and folding more rubbish before the flop, or was there something else that changed it for you? Bet sizing, spotting little patterns, knowing when top pair is actually pretty average... that's where I still get a bit stuck.

Keen to hear what the first proper lightbulb moment was for you. Even better if it's something practical a rec player can use straight away at the micros or a pub game, not full-on solver gear. What leak did you fix first that saved you heaps of chips, mate?

Biggest easy win for me was binning the fancy-looking junk from early position. KJo, A9o, little suited connectors when there's still half the table to act... I used to convince myself they'd play fine and just leaked chips. Raise or fold when you open, don't limp and hope, that cleaned up heaps for me.
