question Punters who follow the nags — where do you get your best info?

I mostly bet footy, but lately I’ve been chucking a few dollars on the races on Saturdays and I’m realising pretty quick I’m basically guessing half the time 😂

Just curious where you lot actually get your mail from. Do you go off form guides, speed maps, track condition stuff, jockey/trainer combos, tipsters on socials, or just watch heaps of racing and build your own read on it?

I’m not after miracle picks or some bloke claiming he never misses lol, more wondering what’s actually useful for local meetings here. There’s so much noise around racing and a fair bit of it feels like rubbish. Keen to know what experienced punters reckon is worth paying attention to and what’s a waste of time.

If you’ve got a routine before the first at Randwick, Flemington, Eagle Farm, wherever — chuck it in. Even just a couple of basics that helped things click for you would be good, mate.

Nah the noise isn’t really the problem, people just overcomplicate it. You do not need ten apps, three tipsters and some bloke on socials calling every runner a moral. Map, track, and whether the horse is actually in the right grade gets you further than most of that paid mail. I barely look at tipsters now.

yeah I sort of agree with this. Once I started binning most of the outside noise it got a bit easier to narrow races down. What I still can’t get a feel for is replays though - do you lot trust what you see there more than the raw form line, or only when something had no room and the run was hidden?

I’m a bit sus on the replay guru stuff for midweeks tbh. Easy to watch one run back and convince yourself you’ve found the roughie, then the pattern flips and the whole race is cooked. I usually wait till closer to jump, see if the market and tote are saying the same thing, otherwise you’re just having a punt in the dark.
