Just curious what everyone here reckons on the local gallops stuff these days. Are you mostly going off the form guide, speed maps, trial replays, track pattern notes, stable/jockey changes... bit of everything?
I still end up doing the basics first - last few runs, class jump or drop, barrier, map, then a quick look at how the track has been playing. If it's wet or the rail is in a weird spot, half the early work feels useless by race 4 anyway.
Also keen to know if anyone's found decent free resources for metro and provincial meetings that aren't full of rubbish. Not chasing miracle picks or some bloke yelling "best of the day" every arvo, more just solid info that helps narrow a race down.
If you've got a simple process that works, chuck it in. Even stuff like when you ignore favourites, when you trust trial form, or which tracks you treat carefully would be handy. Feels like plenty of us look at the same races but end up landing on totally different runners, hey.
