Been scrolling the form this morning and still can’t quite settle on what I wanna back. A couple look obvious, but I’m usually the mug who talks himself out of the right one and ends up chucking a few bucks on a roughie for no reason.
Anyone got a strong feel for any of the meetings today? Keen to hear if there’s a runner you reckon is overs, a fave that looks hard to beat, or even one to avoid completely. Track condition, barrier, jockey change, whatever you’re looking at really.
Not chasing miracle mail or anything, just curious what everyone else is seeing before I lock in a few bets. Good thing about this place is someone always spots something I’ve missed.

Yeah that's the classic punter move lol. You going off the map first or just gut feel? I reckon if the track's got any give in it, sticking with the one that lands on pace is usually the safer play than getting cute with a backmarker, mate.

I've gone broke more than once following the loudest tip in the room. These days I care way more about how a horse settles in run and whether it's already shown it can handle a stop-start race. Late market noise sucks people in way too easy.

Most of the so-called certainties people throw around are bloody hindsight dressed up as insight. If I can't see the case myself from the form and the shape of the race, I just pass. Saves a lot of dumb bets.

nah I wouldn't toss all the whispers in the bin. Once the early races are done and you get a read on the pattern for the arvo, some of that stable confidence starts making a bit more sense. You ruling out all the shorties, or just the ones getting overbet?

Agree with the soft-sit stuff above. I usually do the most damage when I convince myself some first-up mystery runner is about to explode. Give me the fit one with a clean run mapped instead of the clever guess every time.
