question Anyone actually winning with staking plans, or is it all just punter bait?

Genuine question because I keep seeing people flogging these little formulas like they've cracked footy betting. Double after a loss, percentage of bank, chase only favourites, wait for 3 losses then load up... reckon most of it is the same old thing with different paint on it. If the edge isn't there, moving the stake around doesn't magically fix it.

I get using a staking plan so you don't go full drongo and torch your whole bank on a Saturday arvo, that's fair. But some blokes talk like the plan itself is the edge and that's where I call BS. Feels like a bloody shortcut for people who don't want to admit picking winners is the hard bit.

Has anyone here actually stuck with one for AFL or NRL, or even racing, and had it hold up for a decent stretch, not just one hot month? Keen to hear the ugly version too... what blew up, what looked good on paper, what turned into chasing losses at 11pm. Chuck in the one rule you swear by if you've got one.

A staking plan mostly changes the shape of the pain, not whether you've got an edge. Flat stakes, percentage of bank, little progressions... all that tells me is how rough the losing run will feel. If the pick itself isn't solid, you're just rearranging the damage.

The recovery stuff is bloody poison. Looks smart right up until the ugly streak hits, then suddenly you're staking way too much just to win back peanuts. Bookies must love seeing punters convince themselves they found a loophole when it's really just dressed-up chasing.
