question Flat stakes or moving it around — what do you lot actually do on pokies?

Been mucking around with different ways of staking lately and now I’m kinda curious what everyone else does. Do you just pick an amount and leave it there the whole session, or do you bump it up after a decent hit, drop it back when the game’s being stingy, split the bankroll into little chunks etc?

I usually start off saying I’ll keep it simple, then 20 mins later I’m changing the spin size because I reckon the machine feels hot or dead... which probably means nothing lol. Still, some people swear by having a set plan before they even start, and I’m wondering if that actually helps keep the session under control or if it’s just one of those things we tell ourselves.

Not chasing some magic formula or anything, just keen to hear what real players stick with. If you’ve found a method that stops you punting like a drongo in the heat of the moment, chuck it in here mate.

Only thing that's helped me, mate, is deciding the boring stuff before the first spin. I keep the same stake for the whole session, and if I land a decent hit I step away for a minute instead of cranking it up in the same arvo. Once I start 'reading' the machine I'm usually cooked lol.
