Seen a fair bit of chatter the last week or two about punters ditching the usual tipster stuff and just backing when the odds look wrong. Feels way more mainstream now than it used to be... podcasts, X, random betting vids, even mates at the pub talking about making their own numbers. Bit wild considering most people used to just punt off vibes and team news.
I get the basic idea — if you reckon something should be $2.20 and a bookie has it at $2.60, you take it and trust the long run. Sounds simple when people say it fast lol. Actually doing it properly is probably a different story, especially once limits get slashed or the market moves before you can even chuck a bet on.
Anyone on here doing this seriously with AFL, NRL, racing, whatever? Keen to know if you’re building your own prices, using a model, or just comparing across books and pouncing when one’s out of line. Also wondering if it still works for regular punters or if the sharp blokes and bots clean it up too quick now.
I reckon heaps of people say they do it, but there’d only be a small number actually tracking results properly. If you’ve had a decent run with it, or got burnt trying to be too clever, post it up.
