Been mucking around with different ways to manage a pokies session lately, and the one that's worked best for me is dead simple: I split the bankroll into smaller units before I even start, then stick to one bet level till something decent lands. Compared to just winging it and chasing every dry patch, it feels heaps calmer.
I gave myself about 20 little chunks for a session and treated each one like it had a job to do. So if I chuck in $100, I'm not suddenly sending $4 or $5 spins just because the first few were dead. More like 60c or $1 to start, let the game roll a bit, and if I snag a nice hit I either bank some of it or give myself a short crack at a higher bet. The main thing was not jumping all over the place every second spin.
What I liked most was it killed that "ah bugger it, double it" mood. Less tilt, less panic, and I wasn't dusting the lot in 10 minutes like a goose. Didn't turn me into some profit machine or anything, but the session felt more under control and way less bloody frustrating.
Anyone else running a setup that's actually practical and not some spreadsheet headache? Fixed bets the whole way, little step-ups after a bonus, hard stop after a certain number of units... keen to hear what you reckon.
